Republishing Közet’s Work

Közet’s articles, investigations and original graphics are copyright © Uyghur Monitor Inc. All rights reserved.

Citing our reporting. News organizations, researchers and others are welcome to report on Közet’s findings. When you do, credit Közet by name in the text, for example “according to an investigation by Közet,” and link to the original article. Findings first reported by Közet should not be presented as your own reporting.

Quoting. You may quote brief excerpts, up to 100 words, with credit to Közet and a link to the original article.

Republishing. Republishing any Közet article in full or in substantial part, or translating it, requires written permission from Közet. We require permission because our reporting concerns people who can be put at risk by changes to how they are described, and because a translation can alter a sourcing caveat, a place name or an attribution in ways we cannot see. To request permission, email republishing@kozet.org with the article, the outlet, the language and how you plan to use it. Approved republication must:

  • keep the byline, the dateline, the publication date and the line “This article was first published by Közet,” with a link to the original;
  • reproduce the article as published, including its headline, quotations, sourcing, attributions and place names, without additions or omissions;
  • not add names, images, locations or details that Közet withheld;
  • include any corrections or updates Közet has made, and apply any correction Közet issues after republication;
  • not be republished on platforms where it could be altered or stripped of its attribution.

Images and graphics. Photographs, video, satellite imagery and graphics may not be republished. Many include material owned by third parties, which Közet is not able to license to others. You may link to the Közet article in which they appear, but you may not embed, display or hotlink them.

No commercial use or endorsement. Közet content may not be sold, used in advertising, or used to suggest that Közet endorses a product, service, organization or cause.

Automated use. Közet content may not be scraped, copied or used to train or operate artificial-intelligence systems without written permission.

Közet may decline or withdraw permission at any time. Közet’s editorial standards, including our policies on corrections and source protection, are published at kozet.org/editorial-standards.
